brodster Posted November 22, 2010 Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 Building up my old stock 510. I have a L20b I am building up. I have a dogleg 5-speed in the garage (63A). It is good shape and the old owner said as far he knew it ran just fine. He opened it up and the gears looked great. It has been sitting in my garage for a few years, and I would love to go through it and put new syncros in (per the DQ article) but I really don't want to mess with it. It probably doesn't need syncros, but I don't know. To be honest, I don't really feel up to rebuilding a tranny. What I am looking for is a low mileage or relatively freshly rebuilt dogleg 5 speed. I want something that I can swap in that shifts relatively crisply. Basically I am looking for something in a verified great condition. I live in Seattle. Thanks Link to comment
