yeah its the stock motor that comes in the 67 411sss for that year. which is a r16 i believe. dual su carbs, exuast manifold goes out the fender, thats the motor.

so like some of you know im trying to swap motors in my 411sss. my question isnt about specs i can find that all day on here and the good ol internet. injust simpily wanna know the weight of the motor thats in my 67 411sss. any clues to how i can find this out or if any of you wise folks know the answer would be greatly appreciated.

Yup! It was a tough choice though. My problem was that I didn't know the exact color of the exterior and the bay was a slightly different off white, or at least it was when I pulled the motor since it had no clear on it...

its just a matter of time and money. but once everything is settled in the bay ill take it all out strip the paint down and get to work.

in my car personally i want to go stock. its that offset white color that the 411 has. but once i swap a motor and get the fitment right i was also thinking of going the interior color whicjmh is also a burgundy kinda color. ive got plentty of rattle cans to play with.

might not be the rising sun, maybe almost american standard to hippies and the daisy flower but i did a lil research and came across this imperial emperor seal and thought it was quit interesting. rising sun is more military and navy oreinted, this was the seal of japan and thought, if done right would look pretty good some where on a datto. what do you guys think??

i was looking at the s15 blacktops with 6 speed but decided on a s14 blacktop with 5 speed. there basically the same motor. the s14 has a better trans and is stronger. s15 uses the 5 speed trans housing so the gears are more likely to fail since theyre smaller to fit.

We suspected you wouldn't get it done -- we've heard talk like that before.

 

It is possible to get an SR20DET swap in a 411, so best wishes. Cut & weld, she'll go in. Can't wait for the photos.

yeahhh. if i can still find a buick gn ill go through with the swap. i never got discouraged or anything like that. ive been searching 7 different cities for this motor and the only guy who had one sold it the day before i got paid. i had talked to him about the motor and everything. so the next best thing is the SR swap. i have a couple weeks til i start putting money on a motor, so until then my search isnt over for the v6. im not settling for anything else except one of those 2 motors.

ookkkaaayyy... this sucks but then you gotta pay to be the boss around town right. theres no way i can get the buick v6 turbo motor cus noone has it. and the guy i was gonna get it from sold it to someone else. rat bastard!!! but came to the conclusion of a s14 sr20det going in the 411. its going down and its going to be the first.

Just for laughs,I threw my SSR reverse meshies on my 67 411. 15x8 staggered offset with a 195/55/15 tire,they were perfectly "hellaflush" on a 93 240sx (S13).They have a LOT more lip than the wheel you picture(front approx 2 1/2", rear 3 1/2"-4")So probably more offset as well. I have no issues with clearance inside,but it is close,and they sit about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch (you convert to MM) outside of my fenders,plus the tire bulge.So my guess is that you would run into clearance problems on the inside. When I pull them back off to lower the car,Ill snap a couple pics,and measure the offset,should be able to get an idea of how yours would sit.Hope you can make them work.Spacers will be your friend.

any pics yet to what your rims looks like on the 411. i wanna get some wheels for mines coming time soon but dont know a good offset since i cant just drive down to a tire shop.

^^^^^ i was just gonna ask about your wheels as to someone beat me to it. lol. do u know the make of them atleast. maybe i can see what sizes they offer to compare. the offset is tricky for me and dont wanna go buy rims without knowing exactly. your ride is coming along really well. i was gonna do the ka swap outta my 240 coupe but im just gonna leave it since i beat it anyways and use it for drifting at the track.

man if ur in fullerton ca then thats not a bad drive for me at all. i wanna get some meshies for my 411. 15x7 might be pushing it though. any 14x7's four lug of course.
