  1. Thanks datzenmike I appreciate the information and will consider it normal and move on to next item that needs attention.
  2. It's got 205/75R14 with 2 ply sidewalls, I'll have to put some miles on it to see if it gets better. Would adjusting the ride height affect the ride?
  3. I didn't use poly, my 1991 Nissan D21 rides a lot better.
  4. I have a 1985 Nissan 720 2WD that's a project truck, I bought a few years ago with a blown motor, I have since replacement the motor and all the front suspension bushings, ball joints, shocks and all the steering components with the exception of the steering box. I've had the front end alignment done but the suspension is real stiff and feels like I'm riding a tank, I never drove it prior to doing the work so I'm not sure how it rode before. I didn't index the torsion bars prior to removing them but followed the maintenance manual when I did the reinstallation, hoping you gentlemen might have some ideas. I did a search on the forum but didn't find any similar topics.
  5. Thanks Thomas, I'm working on getting the (project) truck drivable first and I will get back with you.
  6. I verified both coils are working, I’ll have to send the tach out for repair.
  7. I never did see the tach work I'll check the coils like you suggested, do know where I could send the tach to get repaired?

    Tach install

I took a tach out of a 1984 720 4WD and installed it my 1985 720, I found the connector behind the instrument cluster and verified the resistor was installed but the tach doesn’t work. I don’t know if it was a working tach, is there anything I may be missing?
  9. I was referring to the gear ratio in the differential datzenmike
  10. I'm going to try and locate one closer to me but I'll keep it in mind, thanks iceman510
  11. Do you know what gear ratio I need with the 5 speed it has a HF38 (3.88) now?
  12. I have a 1984 Nissan King Cab 4X4 5 speed I bought as a parts truck so I have everything except the transmission and driveshaft being the 4X4 transmission doesn't have the speedometer drive.
  13. Thanks for all the information datzenmike, I'll be visiting the salvage yards this weekend. I've had no luck locating an FS5W71B so I will try and located a FS5W71C transmission.
  14. Do you know if the speedometer cable will work being the drive will be on the left instead of the right?
  15. I would like to avoid lengthening the driveshaft but if I can’t find a FS5W71B will the FS5W71C work?
