  1. Interesting. Thanks. The seller gave me some specs from his memory, and he said its meant to be 8.6mm lift or so, and 274 degrees duration. Not much lift compared to other mild cams, and I was wondering if its measured at the cam lobe, whereas others may be measured at the valve? It probably just doesn't have much lift. The base circle doesn't look like its been cut much, but some has been taken off the top of the lobes definitely. Was probably on an L18 or smaller.
  2. G'day, I bought a reground L series cam a while ago, supposedly a mild rally cam that was ran with su carbs back in the day. Its called a ce953, and I haven't been able to find any evidence of it even existing on the internet. Does anyone know anything about it? Manufacturer? Specs? Thanks in advance. Wilson
  3. G'day everyone, just wondering what years the L series motors had Datsun branded covers and Nissan ones. I have motors with both and I'm curious as to what years they might be. At a guess the datsun ones were earlier and they brought the nissan ones in in the late 70s. Is that correct? Cheers, Wilson
  4. My flywheel on the L18 was a bigger one from a 720 ute and it's pretty shot. I'll get one new at repco probably. You can still buy clutch kits with all the stuff I need. Cheers for all the help guys. Wilson
  5. Thanks, lots of useful stuff to know. I compared some auto flex plates off an 18r and an l18 and the ring gear is different so for anyone else wondering, that wont work. I did find a guy with some L20b flywheels though, so I will get my hands on one of them. Thanks for your time. Wilson
  6. So you reckon a ka flywheel might work
  7. I dont really want to get new holes drilled but that is a possibility, do you how many teeth are on an L20b flywheel so I can check if they are the same? I dont really have any money to spend as I'm 15 and dont have a job yet. I'm also curious as to whether this will work. Maybe I'll just have to try it. Cheers for the reply.
  8. Hi, I'm a newbie here, I have a 200b wagon that currently has an L18, and I'm about to buy an L20B but my flywheel won't work because if the bolt pattern. I also have a ratty old hilux that has an 18r. I know the 18r has 6 bolts like the L20b so I was wondering if I could use that. Cheers, Wilson
