  1. I'm replacing the radio that was put into my truck by previous owner, who also hacked the dash to get it in. Any recommendations for a kit that might work best? I'm installing a shaft style 80s Sony XR-65. Also, I plan to install an 80s Targa eq in the punch out bay above the battery meter. Any recommendations or thoughts for a kit to also put in that space to aid with installation?
  2. Think i figured it out. Referencing three different repair manuals, it looks like I might have 1986 D21 4wd shoes, which retailers are listing for 1986 720 4wd. I really need to stick to 1985 4wd 720 parts!
  3. Does the C-200 have the bolt on rear then?
  4. @datzenmike yep, it has bolt on cover.
  5. Ill check tonight. Would that indicate a potential swap?
  6. Finally scored myself some brackets. 😁
  7. I had ordered 4wd drum shoes a while ago but finally got around to replacing them this past weekend. Took the hellish situation out, cleaned things up and put in new wheel cylinder, put the new shoes in only to find the drum not fitting back on. Took it off again and notice the shoes are a lot wider than the original ones previously installed. The old ones appear to be ~1.75" wide and the new ones were ~2.25 inches wide. I checked rock auto and other sites for 4WD shoes and they all seem to have the ~2.25 wide shoes. So I am confused why I had the smaller width installed unless that is the standard width and the websites aren't listing the new shoes correctly?
  8. @Lockleaf would you mind measuring the length/standoff from the bumper bracket and diameter of tube to which bull bar would attach? Much appreciated!
  9. Awesome, thank you for posting. However, yours don't seem to be getting any use... 😉
  10. Pretty certain it's designed for 720. Sorry, can't help you regarding fit of other brush guards.
  11. Just scored and fitted a brush guard on my 86 720 but I'm missing the braces from the front bumper to the top mounting points of the bull bar. Anyone got some photos or measurements of such part to complete the install?
  12. I'm about a mm or two short of getting the circlip onto the new front cv axle after installing new bearings, seals and axle. Any tips? Tried both original circlip and a new one but just not enough space. Need thinner circlip? Thought I could maybe put a bolt in the end of the CV axle for some pulling leverage but no such luck... No threaded hole on the end of the axle.
  13. I do have sticker in door jamb, so I guess that replaced the tag in engine compartment?
  14. New to the group as I just became the owner of a 1986 Nissan 720 manual 4x4 king cab with 120k miles. Thing is, I just wiped off grease to reveal z24 engine serial which does not match VIN. Is that normal? Also, according to the original manual that came with the truck, along with the original warranty docs, it says there should be a plate in engine compartment passenger side that lists body/engine data. But this is not present in my truck. Thanks for any clarification!
