It worked, thanks lockleaf. For anone reading this, I used about 10 inches of bulk 7/8" diameter heater hose. This is the hose going from under the intake manifold to the lower radiator hose connection to the engine block. There was no thermostat at this connection.

Here is the hose and connection where the lower radiator hose meets up. Would it be safe to just get a straight section of hose and connect it?

I'm having some issues sourcing this part. However, on my 85 z24 the hose goes from under the manifold to the lower radiator hose connection. My thermostat is on my upper radiator hose. It has been a few days since I last looked at this, so I could very well be wrong here. Just going from memory. Is my memory just that clouded? Does anyone have a part number for the hose coming from under the intake manifold to the coolant line? I am without a vehicle right now because I've been unable to find a correctly shaped hose at the local parts stores.
