I am looking for a 1968-1973 datsun 510 for trade for my 1997 toyota tacoma 2wd single cab.the 510 has to be in good condition.the 510 has to be running.it has to have good body with very little to no rust. i would like a sunroof but its not mandatory.the toyota tacoma has 2xxxxx miles to the chassis...but we replaced the engine about 11/2 years ago. the engine has about 69xxx miles...we do not have paper work to prove it because we did the swap ourselves. i am looking for a trade with some money on your side(or money on my side depending on what has been done to the 510). the truck does have working a/c and will pass smog with flying colors.registration is due in dec/2010. i am looking for the 510 in California. Running an aftermarket Greddy/Freddy Intake Plenum Definately helps hide things a lot better and really cleans things up... the tougher things to hide are the CAS sensor wires going across the front as well as the wires to the MAF, as they run across the front of the engine near the valve cover.

 

I'm running my harness in the next few days, so I'll post pics of what mine looks like. I like clean, but a whole tuck seems overkill for me... there isn't that much I think I can do with the injectors and I'd rather run the wires across the front with the vacuum lines to the Recirc Valve and the Wastegate, as it's a shorter and easy path to get there.

 

Here's a pic on mine currently sans harness and I think it's decently clean.... In the pic my clips/brackets aren't on yet in the front for the vaccuum lines and wiring, but they go across the VC right up top and look decently clean if done right.

 

 

I'm not thinking the harness with complicate it too much, as I took everything off it I didn't need and re-wrapped it to be as clean as possible.

yea that looks real good...i bought some heavy duty degreaser...it didnt help much...i wish i had a greddy manifold but they are so damn expensive...i think i will have to hide all my wires under the stock manifold

ohh and one more thing would that top oil relocation kit still fit or would i have to transfer it back to the bottom???

if i shorten it will i just have to clip the wires and tape them back or would i have to solder them??

Yes the harness will work no you don't need the fuse box

will it be the same process as in ICEHOUSE's Wiring Diagram Or will i have to do something different???thanks for the help

hey i recently had a 240sx with an sr20det in it. my question is will the harness still work for the swap into a datsun 510?or will i have to buy a new harness??the harness was converted to work with the 240 sx

ohh and also will i need these fuse/relay boxes??

well the passanger side i want pretty high and i want it to go all the way back i will post a link to my 510 so you could see whereto cut...the driver side i dont need an a specific cut for it but ill post the link to the pics so u could see...if you could look at the link theirs pictures of my 510 that should give u a idea
