Glad to see this topic is helping out a few folks. I have my tranny (the first one posted at the top) at the shop for cleaning, new seals, getting the flywheel turned, and replacing two worn out shift forks. Other than that I'm told everything looks good inside. They said they found a clutch for me, but they priced it at $230, which sounds a bit extreme to me. I did a search on Craigslist and lo and behold I found the following:
"New pressure plate, clutch disk, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, and guide tool. This will fit a 1977-1981 Datsun 200SX, 1978-1981 Datsun 510, 1974-1977 Datsun 710."
Based on the info ya'll have provided about my transmission does it sound like this would work? He only wants $50.
