Went to a local junk yard today that has rumors to have never crushed a car. Picked up a complete 77 620 dash with perfect bezel and complete a.c. system for 60! Said he has 2 more datsuns but will have to drag out of woods. Just wanted to share the best deal I believe I ever got!
I am familiar with being able to reuse head bolts on 620, however i have two that are not in good shape. Any idea if i can buy singles and where. Or options from another datsun that may work?
Little history, truck was running great, took on 100 mile trip. Next day as i pull into station it died. Never heard a noise, spun over with little compression. Chain did have alot of slack so it wad replaced only to still lack compression
I replace timing chain, guides and waterpump. Still turns over same, jus a little compression on back cylinder. Put air in spark plug hole and air came thru all holes from one. That is what made me think this
I have a 77 620 that Jumped time, it warped valves, not yet sure how many. I have been looking around for replacements as i am going to pull head this week. Seeking ideas of best place to get them
Took carb apart, the jet that runs towards end of anti diesel solenoid was stopped up! I totally missed it during rebuild, runs so smooth now! Thanks for the advice
Ok i did take carb off, facing engine looking towards bed, jet on right is a 160 and clogged jet on left is 99 and clean, jet on right was dry, while left was wet. Does this all sound normal?
Ok i am running thru list of things that have been suggested, is it possible for jets to be mixed up in carb? Maybe to much at idle and not enough at full throttle going down highway?
Ok timing is set, plug gap is right, however its a champion cross reference plug. Choke pull off is working, wont idle until warm, then has a slight stumble. The sound from exhaust is like a low growl or popping every few secs. runs down road ok yet can still hear the skip a little. At full throttle while driving it will stall til i ease off a little.
