  1. Hey guys, my name is lisa, I am new to this page I just thought I cud get some help off you guys if I get in a bit of a pickle.

ok so I came across 2 datsuns in a farm a few months back, a bargain I say.. one is a 64 no engine no driveline, just chassis cab and suspension with a flat bed tray.. and the other is a 65 and it is complete everything original.. engine still runs to this day. My plan is to restore the complete one and get it up and able to drive on the road and the other without the running gears It has been under construction fir a few weeks now, so on this topic I will be uploading the progress shots of the one I will b cutting and fabricating, also bringing the complete truck back to life, searching for parts etc.. so that is where you guys come I, so if u have any opinions or ways to help or see me doing something wrong, or getting rid of something I shouldn't please let me know.. the following pics r one of me so u get to know who ur talking to and 2 of my trucks original pics, then as I go along I will update u with more..

  2. Well atm the truck is put on a stand still, you know what us women r like, very indecisional. I went from cutting out notch playes, now choosing to go independent rear, the rear assembly is goin to b out of an 180sx. So will be doing a road trip down to the gold coast to snag one up. Sorry bout no more pics but they will come

  3. I actually like the top lip of the tub n the little hooks but my problem is when I shorten the tub I need to keep the distance even between the hooks so I was goin to try and attempt to cut 3 sections out of the tub one out of the front one out of the back and even where the tyre arch is, because it's very square compared to the body.. what's ur thoughts

  4. Yeh I still think the tub doesnt belong to that cab.. cab is so curvy yet the tub is just so square, yeh for sure.. I will get more pics as I go.. had a bit of a game changer halfway through my rear set up so started again..

  5. And when it comes to the rotary, I have never really worked on rotaries through my apprenticeship, so again it will be a good learning curve for me, and I am someone who would rather do all the work myself then to pay someone to do it as then if something goes wrong with my truck I know what it is and I will know how to fix it, plus when I take the bagged one to shows when people ask about different things, such as the rear set up or the fabricating I will be able to talk to them about in detail not say umm I dont know hey..

and when it comes to the tub, u guys can put ur opinion in, but see how the bottom of the tub is higher then the cab.. I was going to put an extension on the front of the tyre arch and the back then make that lower body line wrap all the way tound the back so then it sits at the same height as the bottom of the cab, I will upload pics as I m goin but thats my thoughts so both cab and tub sit flat on the ground when it is aired out... any other ideas will be muchly appreciated.

  7. That is a tough one which is that far away I havnt really thought about it.. the engine bays r so tiny in them, I have a few options, find another original engine, clean her up real nice, or a rotory or turbo sr20 I was thinking

  8. I will keep an eye out on ebay and a few datsun forums for parts etc but For now I am spending more time on the blue 64.. my outcome for her is airbagged, body chopped, (she was fully shaved when I first got her out of the paddock) taking a few inches off her length. And building my own rear clip.. but you knonwhen you plan something they dont always turn out the way you want it. I have to say though I bought myself a new miller plasma cutter, by far the best cutting tool out, so clean n tidy, love it.the other night I wad down in the shed making up a few nitch plates I was using the grinder, plasma cutter, and mig welder, I thought great another night without hurtin myself, as I opened the packet to get my new tape measure out, I bloody sliced myself. The one tool that aint dangerous haha.I know alot of people are against cutting up such an old car but thats why I bought two of them
