Yeah I figured that out. However I don't understand the purpose of that.....

How come the second butterfly valve on my carb doesn't open?
-
I already did, its still doing it. I think its carbon build up... Saw a lot on my plugs. It really needs the rebuild. I was gonna use a mizumo rebuild kit. Any kits you guys recommend
-
My intake gasket was the leak needed replaced and now its running great thanx guys. However my engine still has a harsh turn off.
-
Yeah I cant find any other vacuum leaks then that one hose. I still hear whistle but i cant find anything I traced through all the vacuums. I really think I just need to rebuild my carb since the truck was sitting for so long. Are the servos for the heating vacuum controlled?
-
I planned on doing all fuel lines and brake lines asap. The truck was sitting a few months before my boss got it and I bought it from him. The truck will be taken down to the frame and fully restored. I can't let it sit though as its now my daily driver. Me and the gf was sharing a car and it was quite stressful. When on the highway or driving I have no issues. Only when returning back to idle goes it seem to have issues. Since I advanced the dizzy I accelerate a lot better and even the tires actually burn rubber it no longer bogs
-
I dont know how to check or adjust the float =/ Not too familar with tuning carbs Yeah every once in a while when I'm accelerating it feels weak and bogs. The fuel filter is in the tank right? Would it be a bad idea to put a inline filter on it in the future? I was hoping the sea foam would help flush everything out. I have a lot of condensation in my exhaust also. I dont think the genus who had it last had the weep hole on the bottom of the muff. Idk I have a foot and a half of spray from my exhaust every start up. I advanced my distributor a bit and its doing a lot better. Also no matter what way I turned my distributor the car would adjust the timing and tune itself for the most part.
-
Its a points dizzy, I went through all the vaccum lines yesterday had 1 split so I cut off the split part and put it back on. Not sure about the fuel as I just bought the truck last saturday And it was running rough then so first thing i did was put seafoam in the tank and filled her up. Also bought a can of carb cleaner and sprayed it out. Still no change, Just to get it to run I had to adjust the idle from the screw closed to the throttle cable then at the idle that was capped I turned it down to the point where it was going to cut off and then adjusted in up a lil. Yes as I couldnt tell this was happening until after I did the distributor cap wires plugs and rotor.

Yeah I'm a little intimidated by the blow thru  Mainly because of the carb I know the basic operation and how it works but idk never rebuilt one before lol. So I dont know what makes a carb better then the next is basically what I'm saying. I've always dealt with fuel injection so this is a bit of a flip for me. I've built small block 350's before but still never handled the carbs too much. I will do more research on the blow thru as its what i wanted to do in the first place but draw thru seemed like a cheaper and easier way out for the small amount of boost i was wanting to gain. I think I'm just gonna forge everything and go balls to the wall. Thanks for all the advice I'll be sure to message you if i have any questions.

So I've replaced my plugs and wires dizzy cap and rotor. Cap was melted on one terminal thought it was my issue but my rpms keep going up and down. I figured it had to be my carb as I had adjusted the throttle cable to be able to drive it. Also has an issue recovering back to idle after letting off the gas. Any suggestions?

Yeah I'd only be running 8psi as I'm only doing a stock rebuild on the engine. And I'm unsure how much this engine can handle on stock internals. And I see what you mean. I didn't think about pooling :/ I suppose if it ever misfired I'd have a bomb under my hood. Dam I thought I was on to something... My pockets aren't deep enough for a blow through setup hahaha. Would there be much back pressure to the turbo from the intake? These aren't exactly high rpm engines so I wanted to rid as many obstacles that may lag the turbo.
-
I read the post but its not the same as my setup. It goes carb---turbo---engine but I'm wanting to displace the pressure in a tank essentailly. Then feed a tube from the tank back between the carb and turbo. Carb---Turbo---Engine #####|#######| #####|######BoV ####IGR######| #####|________displacement tank
-
So I had an idea for a draw through turbo with a BoV. So rather then burst a bunch of atomized air/fuel under the hood of my truck. Why not setup like a egr so it would be a igr lol. So basically the Bov would release into a large diameter tube to displace some of the boost then back k around to the intake just before the turbo. Now my only question is will the bov work not having a throttle body to bounce off of. Or could I remove the carbs butterfly valves and use a throttle body at the intake?

Sorry didnt know the link would break if I uploaded more pics. I will find a dif place to host my pics. Well I'm setting up a draw through turbo system on my z24. I was going to do a blow through but for the amount of boost I was gonna run. (8psi) An intercooler wouldnt really do anything for me. And its a pain in the ass to tune a blow thru my only concerns are the initial startup with the draw through system. Having the carb so far away from the intake manifold. Should i be worried about that? I plan on making it as short of length to the inake as possible. But still sitting pretty under my hood  My boss goes to the auctions and hes gonna snag what ever he can find with a weber on it to give it to me. Hes giving me what ever I want to help out with my build. Was just curious about the varajet as an alternative. Right now with the stock my throttle response just seems to suck. I may just rebuild it, currently the idle is all kinds of f'd up. When pressing the throttle and release it almost stalls but then somehow regains its idle and i think pieces are missing off it......
-
Think I should try and run it lol? I'm waiting for a weber to come through the salvage yard again.
