  1. Lol no I'm in Southern Cali
  2. STill in progress.. about %80 complete i just haven't had money lately to finish it. Right now looking for springs to finish working on suspension, but now that tokico springs are no longer available I don't have many to choose from since I've heard Eibach springs aren't that great for track.
  3. Well it's a lien sale. Somebody just abandoned the car at his shop 2 years ago. As far as work it's mostly cosmetic, dent on quarter panel, new door panels. Right now my audi is not really drivable with that broken bolt in it since it leaks most of the water out after 20 minutes of driving. And yes it will need to be smogged. I'm familiar with S30 but never really looked int 280zx so I don't know that much about them. Is $600 a good price? He said car runs, AC leaks a little and it'll need new fuel and most likely new belts, oil and a good tune up.
  4. So recently i've been having problems with my 2000 audi a4 DD.. broke a coolant flange bolt in the back of the motor and took it to a shop to get it drilled out since I don't have the tools to do it myself. They tried and said the head is going to have to come off.. At this point i don't want to invest so much money and labor into a $3k car with salvaged title. At that shop they have a 79 280zx that's been parked there for 2 years after a previous owner abandoned it. So now a shop's owner is selling it for $600, don't know much about it but he said it runs just needs some work. So I'm considering selling the audi as is and buying the z as a temp DD until i save up for something more modern. Or maybe use that money to finish my vg30 280z project.. Body seems to be in decent shape except a dent on driver side quarter panel. Haven't checked under the car for rust yet. Interior is actually in pretty decent shape, just needs new door panels, and it's missing a driver's side mirror.

    VG30et swap

I decided to use an empty Q45 fuse box to hold my relays and fusible links. Fuse and relay holders can be unclipped and removed. I only needed a relay holder and 2 fusible link holders.

Since stock crossover pipe was right next to stock 280z brake lines I had to reroute them. Bought a roll of brake line and rerouted all of the brake lines in the engine bay, including clutch line. Put the brake booster and downpipe back on only to realize that downpipe is touching the brake booster... I guess the brake booster I got at the junkyard is either slightly larger or shaped differently than the stock brake booster.

Close up pictures of my downpipe and modified turbo relocation pipe: Also got this new Direct NOS injection setup

Does anyone know the ohm ranges of z31 and 280z temperature gauge sensors? Trying to figure out if I can use z31 sensor with 280z gauge.

    VG30et swap

Well it's been a while. I couldn't work on my z for over a month but now I'm finally back at it. No major updates, just started to organize and clean up engine bay. Tested WG actuator, which is a stock z31 actuator modified to fit, for some reason it starts to open at 10psi and fully opens at 14. I guess the spring was damaged by heat when we welded the rod.

Thank you! B) Yup and there was barely any room for them there And I'm pretty sure car would handle better with VG than with Vh45

    Test fitted a new radiator:
  12. Check fuses and fusible links. 280z didn't come with headlight relays, power goes directly from battery through combination switch. Check grounds and power wires at the steering column
  13. Last time I checked 280z did not have headlight relays.

ouch.. I was lucky enough to have a friend with a z31 turbo that recently blew a tranny. Well L28et is quite fun as well, I almost did a vh45 swap but needed custom headers and not enough money. I'm surprised I got all the wiring right. This was my first time wiring an engine.
