  1. I think I'm just gona use the top half of the scoop , it's huge and looks ridiculous at full height on the truck . looks pretty good with just the top half covering the hole in the hood , well... my brother and I were playing on a dirt road the other day , I was in the truck following his supra which was throwing up a shitload of dust . blinded by the dust I hit a pretty bumpy spot in the road and the truck sputtered and died like 30 seconds later . it wouldn't start and wasn't getting fuel . the fuel pump was makin a lot of noise and vibrating . I changed the filter between the tank and pump , it still wouldn't start . after a sketchy ass tow from the supra with like 3 ft of tow rope , it was home and still wouldn't start . I decided to try again this morning and it started right up . what do you think the problem was ? clogged lines ? or maybe my badass filter took in some supra dust and clogged the carb ? maybe I'll put the scoop on backwards after all
  2. well I got fancy aluminum hood scoop for free today . Came off an 280zx that my brother got today haha , it was bolted to the hood with no function at all . figured it'd be perfect for my truck URL=http://s1301.photobucket.com/user/Rriiddee11/media/image_zps98d08f12.jpg.html][/url] in related news the truck is broke down at a park across town . haha . it died and isn't getting fuel . Going to check the filter when it stops raining , although I just replaced it not too long ago
  3. I also just came across this picture and am fairly sold ... http://www.streetsource.com/Forums/14/Topic/60603
  4. I've been thinking of different color schemes that might compliment the "pos appeal" of my hood, that I enjoy so much . I'm pretty set on black undercoating from the trim line down , and stripping all the paint above that to bare metal , with some rust prevention oil type stuff. and rhynoline the inside of the bed . how many friends will I lose for that one haha ?
  5. I've been messing around on smoothish gravel dirt roads and it's fine for that already (could be worlds better but it slides around easily) I do want it to be able to slide around on pavement though , eventually
  6. maybe I could make a hood scoop like the one on that green truck though
  7. sweet thanks ! If i understand the turnbuckle idea , I think I'm kind of doing that right now . I used a ratchet strap from the motor to the fenderwell , I got the idea the other day from a picture of some drift cars engine bay . is this alright for driving around town ? pm me an offer , just for fun , I'll say no thanks . donate a nice firearm and I'll consider shooting myself . the answer will be no but I'll thank you for the firearm and sell it for a saw , then cut more holes in my truck . Word ? yes I like my truck. I don't plan on getting rid of it and I really don't regret the hood haha, I like it then I want it to drift, rallycross, fuck arournd, and hold my dirtbike haha
  8. well here's my parts list that I'll be saving for , so far . any problems or other things I should get while I'm at it ? remember I'm new to all this , I didn't know what torsion bars were until I googled how to lower my truck . . . : prothane complete bushing kit, leaf spring bushing/shackle kit, upper and lower ball joints, drop spindles, gas shocks for lowered truck?(suggestions?),motor mounts and transmission mounts(are there stiffer aftermarket ones ?), hardbody leaf springs, alignment my goal would be freshen up the suspension, replace wear parts and basically get it ready for an alignment. few things I'm not sure about : 1. I think I'd be looking for gas shocks , that are made for a lowered 720. is this correct and which ones would you suggest ? 2. ive only been able to find stock rubber motor mounts , are there stiffer aftermarket ones availible and would I benefit from that ? 3. hardbody leaf springs were suggested and I've been searching but can't seem to find the info I'm looking for . do they just fit and bolt on? should I get the bell tech 2" lowering springs for hardbody, or stock hb springs? will the leaf bushing/shackle kit I chose above still be correct , or do I need one for a hardbody ? thanks for any input like I said , I've tried searching but not finding what I'm looking for
  9. has anyone ever put an l24 motor in a 720 ? just a thought , my 240z was the most fun motor I've ever driven . I'm assuming it would be too long though
  10. sounds legit , so any of the 4 cylinder l heads will fit ? Is there a specific one that's best to use ? and thanks everyone for the advice
  11. lz ? sorry I don't know what motor you're talking about ?
  12. Would the panhard bar still stiffen the rear with leaf springs(like axle moving side to side)? It feels like there's a lot of said movement , what should I do to reduce it ? short of a coil spring/link set up
  13. I don't plan to race it haha just slide around on dirt roads and gravel parking lots , and snow here soon :) , then hopefully by summer it will be ready for asphalt. Then ideally it will blow up and and I'll find a v8 or something to put in it
  14. I did lower the front all the way on the torsion bars and put 3" blocks on the back already . I've been looking into more ways to lower it . I saw one with mustang2 coilovers where the front shocks go and the mounts reinforced. seems like I can re drill the front leaf spring mount , and I saw one where the guy built sliders to replace the shackles at the rear of the leaf springs(speedway motors has them for different cars, not sure if they would fit the nissan spring?). He also had a panhardbar like I was thinking and a big sway bar in the back. It looks like the coilovers swap up front would be better than torsion bars slammed , but I'm not sure where the ride height would be. any input on these ideas ? Plan would be to save up and get new bushings for everything, get the parts I need and take it to a my welder friend
