  1. sorry it took a while to post back. looks like the problem was the dust cover i was using for some reason. we took out the trans and removed the dust cover and we seen where it was rubbing or getting stuck at. we looked around for any other issues before we put it back in. that seemed to solve that problem. now i have another problem that ill post on a new thread. thanks for all the help.
  2. okay fellas so we took out the trans today and i think we found the problem. looks like it might have been the dust cover. after removing the trans, clutch flywheel and pilot bushing the engine turned over again. we inspected the parts and noticed that the dust cover was bent in towards the center bottom so were thinking thats whats adding pressure or making it fit too tight. hopefully thats it. another thing is the pilot bushing ive tried 2 different bushings and they dont seem to fit very well. any suggestions on how to install or if there are different sizes of bushings. thanks
  3. hey there havent pulled out trans yet. i spoke to a gentlemen at aita clutch in compton ca about my situation and he said that it is possible that the hole where tran shaft goes into the engine could be coned shaped, therefore when the trans goes in it goes in tight, not allowing the engine to turn over. engine 1992 240sx auto trans 90's hardbody is this possible? or somewhat true?
  4. thanks everyone for your help and input ima post back the results positive and negative and where we think it went wrong. thanks again
  5. @dottiblue thanks, ima pull out the trans hopefully in the next few days and see if i can get that going. hopefully its something simple like that.
  6. @datsunaholic yes the trans was running and fit fine on the other engine. now that engine was a frankenstein thats why i decided to go with another more complete engine. okay i didnt think of the flywheel or plate being stuck/jammed in bellhousing but its possible. thanks. ima have to remove it and take another crack at it.
  7. @datzenmike the trans was hard to mate to the block and engine came from a 1992 240sx a/t. we used the original plate that was in the trans. i believe trans is from a hardbody truck
  8. @JAKE719 how would i turn just the trans over. ive tried the turning the engine over manually and no luck. and yeah i double, triple checked to make sure it was in neutral.
  9. @datzenmike yes it was removed before we installed the flywheel. possible pilot bushing issue?
  10. @Stoffregen Motorsports no it wont turn over even when the clutch is engaged. we were kinda having a hard time when we put in the pilot bushing in. the first one was a brass one. it if too tight and ended up breaking. the second one was like an aluminum we got that one in better than the brass one but the trans fit really snug. would that be a possible reason why it wont turn over when tranny is on?
  11. @datzenmike yes the engine was an automatic before
  12. @510 freak yeah it turned over when we put power to the starter before we installed trans and now it will not turn over manually @datzenmike engine is from a 90's 240 got it from marcosat the sr20 shop in gardena. transmission looks like its from a 90's hardbody
