  1. got snow earlier today freezing rain now. i tried turning it over without plugs before i put the new ones in but my choke is not hooked up so should the flap on the carb be up or down its down right now
  2. its getting a spark my new spark plug arent new anymore, there is fuel in the sight glass about a quarter or half full ,ive tried putting gas and engine starter in the carb . I did notice a difference in the way it was starting. when i first got it started i would turn the key it would sputter and start up, but then i had to keeping turning it over when it was sputtering to get it to start, now i can get it to just about start and sputter but not run also i hear something draining when i stop turning it over and every now and then a puff of smoke comes out of the carb. could it be the fuel filter is only about half full and looks kind of dirty
  3. So i had my 76 b210 running and driving but when i left it running outside it died so i thought maybe it ran out of gas but ive added gas since then and i still cant get it started.i can get it to sputter for a couple of seconds but not fire right up. im pretty sure its got spark and compression . i just dont know about the fuel and air . I think there might be a leak somewhere between the carb and intake manifold and it might be flooded. Ive changed the spark plugs should i change the fuel filter and blow out the line or if its flooded what should i do
  4. problem solved all the gears are fine and runs pretty good just a little hard to start sometimes and i think the back brakes arent working becuase the brake light is on. thanks for recomending rockauto
  5. the problem was the master was leaking a little on the inside of the fire wall so the seals are gone or something but i ordered a brand new master, slave ,and line that connects to the slave 90 bucks with shipping .
  6. the problem isn't the piston coming out the back the piston doesn't push out hard enough to engage the clutch. the master looks new and the last owner said it was brand new so maybe he didnt bench bleed it before he put it in. would it need to be bench bleed?
  7. The slave is fine i just cant get enough pressure to engage the clutch i think there might be air in the master or line.but i did bleed it just like you do the brakes and still not enough pressure to push that arm over.
  8. the slave is fine im missing the spring that goes inside ,so when i was trying to bleed it the piston just stayed push down and only let a litte bit of fluid inside the cylinder it needs a spring to suck the fluid in after its been pushed down. I just cant find a spring
  9. Im having some trouble finding a spring for the slave. All the parts stores either dont stock any parts or their rebuild kit doesnt include a spring. Is their any other slave cylinders that will work or slave cylinder rebuild kits that i could use or just use the spring out of? from a newer model.car that they might stock
  10. I think i figured it out, when the last owner rebuild the slave cylinder he didnt put the spring back in he just put piston in without it, and the the clutch arm moves it moves about a centimeter or two when i move it by hand. also when i get this slave thing sorted out the nuts on the pushrod should they be setup so they are not pushing on the clutch arm but still against it?
  11. Any suggestions on whats the best way to bleed the slave? I took it off and cleaned the inside and the piston because i could see a ring off rust starting at the top of the piston. Also should i bench bleed my matser if I ran it out of fluid? If so whats an easy way to get that bottom nut off the master?
  12. so heres what im working with
  13. i know to not drive without a clutch i had worn sycros on my old mustang from this. BUT also when i was bleeding it today i notice that the slave cylinder wasnt moving at all when i press down the clutch pedal is that the problem?
  14. heres the sellers ad if you want a look i dont know how to upload pics yet http://saskatoon.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1974-datsun-b210-W0QQAdIdZ415871276
  15. so I picked it up finally it runs good, can drive it around in first and the brakes need to be replaced . it doesnt shift while running but when its stoped you can shift it.The clutch pedal doesnt feel like there is any pressure also reverse is on the right side if that means anything. Just picked it up tonight so whats the first thing i should check?
