Hello Everyone,
After many years of not driving my 510 (very first car at 17, still have it in storage) I picked another 2-door and am back in the saddle. The previous owner did all the restoration had purchased a seal kit from Datsunland and surprisingly enough the front and rear windshields are leaking, shocking really ;) Now that the rain has come my floorboards are filling and water is in the trunk, just like old times. The car does not have the stainless trim insert which could be the problem from what I've read. The rear window seal does have cracking at the corners.
From what I've gathered I can get seals from the following vendors:
Scott's Old Rubber
-Seals have provision for stainless insert and he offers a plastic insert that should serve the same purpose as the original.
Datsport
-Seals have provision for stainless insert. I would either have to find some or buy the plastic ones from Scott's
Datsunland
-Currently have these seals in the car and they are not working. Read the Q&A as well as other posts and the window seals seem to be where the problem like, all the other seals are working fine. Could go with the "cal look" but I have a my doubts that they will fit or preform as they should.
What I'm really looking for is an opinion on these three and what the best seal is. I'm not too concerned about the cost at this point, I just want water out of the cab.
Thanks!
