  1. This is still up for sale. Gonna drop the price to 700 obo. Gotta have this outta my driveway soon, so it's either someone on here or a junkyard. Make me an offer.
  2. There is a bit on the hood up by the windshield wipers. That rust is a jerk. I can only imagine how hurt these datsuns get back east. :/
  3. Thinking about the necessity of trailering this bad boy away, I'm gonna drop it down to 1000 obo. I'd like to get it out of my driveway soon fellas. Make me an offer.
  4. Hello gents, I am looking to sell off my 81 510 goon. Everything is original on it from what I can tell. I picked it up from my ex-girlfriend back in 2011 and it was my daily for about 6 months. The good: It has 83xxx original miles on the original z20s engine and 3 speed auto transmission. It still starts up in a flash and I start it up every weekend to keep fuel running through it. The bad: It's been sitting for about 4 months due to the driver's side back brake locking up on me. The driver's side front brake probably needs a little work. It has a significant hole in the muffler that makes it sound like a hot rod/2 stroke dirt bike depending on your ear. There is a good dent on the driver's side front fender and one on the passenger side rear panel and a couple spots of rust. The primary rust spot is on the back hatch. I have the title in hand, under both my name and my ex's name. She has signed the appropriate areas for me to transfer into my name only. I will be making my way down to the DMV shortly to get a new title or if one of you have to have this bad boy, we can go down together and do a bill of sale on top of the title to have it sent straight to you in your name. You will need a flat bed to trailer this puppy away. Just something to keep in mind. I'm asking $1200 OBO. I'm not unreasonable gents so make me some offers. I don't have the time nor the money to fix this goon up and I'd like to have someone on here take her home for some T.L.C. Pics are below. PM me with any questions guys and gals and I'll get back to you as quick as I can. Thanks for lookin'.
  5. This particular goon doesn't like to burnout too much. But If I did blow the diff, Wouldn't it lock up both wheels in the back? Yeah, I haven't changed the brakes since I got ahold if this goon back in oct 2011. Everything has been fine since then. I'm gonna get under there and pull apart that drum brake in a few hours after work.
  6. Shoes on backwards? Wouldn't that happen almost right away if they were on backwards? Ill just jack it up and take off the wheels in the back. I'll let you guys know what I find after I get that butt in the air.
  7. Hey there Ratsun guys, I didn't know where to start this topic up simply because I don't exactly know what the main problem is. Yesterday I was pulling out of my driveway and I heard a light clunk sound and my driver side back wheel locked up. This morning I fired up the datto and it moved fine for about 10 feet, and then the same clunk happened and it locked again. Same wheel. The passenger side back wheel moves with ease. I was reading around and something caught my eye making me think It might have to do with the drum brakes in the back or a collapsed brake line. Anyone ever heard of this? Any ideas would be great. I'm gonna put her up on some jack stands later today if I still have sunlight.
  8. more oics doods! its a little overcast and its my phone taking these pictures but you get the idea. she is just begging for a little tlc. Gonna go get her a car wash today. I wanna pull the rear bumper and put up one of those tucked bumpers off the early 70s dimes if it'll fit. Get some new side mirrors and maybe move the placement up onto the fenders by the hood. Any of you ever pulled trim off? I want to take that middle trim on the sides of the car off to get a clean look all the way down. And of course, I have to find some new wheels for this baby! Good news is, she could probably fit some 6.5 or 7 inch wide wheels with very little chance of rubbing, especially because this is a cruisin mobile not a cornering machine. Even if I won't be cornering, some wider wheels couldn't ever hurt. What do you guys think?
  9. wait, GG, which 5 speeds mount up to my engine? I gotta get under there tomorrow and see if its a possibility to drop the tranny without pulling the engine. Cause boy would that be convenient.
  10. 5 speed and better accel? I like the way you think. pursuing this asap with as much vigor as I can pull outta my ass. And banana, I was looking at Elmer's build thread that you linked. I like that comment about "keeping it in the air for better radio reception". I literally lol'd
  11. another question guys, lowering the datto, what's the easiest way to go about this? I imagine, like most other cars there are a couple ways to do this. Any of you guys have personal experience/advice?
  12. california is pretty stiff when it comes to emissions. Although, you are right about lowering it. and some rims. boy would she look sexy with some new wheels. To be honest, I'm not looking for a race car improvement. If anything, some minor acceleration and gas mileage improvements would be prime time. And I think for now, I might just swap out the differential. I posted a thread a while back and found out that my diff runs like 3.1xx ratio. I'll look up the other differentials that fit this puppy and swap one in. Changing a diff only takes a few hours so I can do that on a saturday like bread and butter.
  13. At this point it's mostly time that would be the real limiting factor without another car to daily around. Although, i might be able to slip around that if I can find some vacation time from work. or if I win the lotto... dare to dream, right?
  14. I had some other pictures with wider body shots but I can't find em. Ill take some more tomorrow morning.
