L-series stock exhaust manifolds

Recommended Posts

Get one of these. All of the performance advantages, cheap, and last forever. None of the disadvantages: noisy, expensive, rusty, loose, leaky, hot.

Early L16 from 510 or 521

L18 from 620

I'll be going with one or the other when I swap in a W53 head and SU's.

These are all 4-2-1, correct? All square port? Any difference other than the L18 looking beefier and having that (EGR?) tube?

Thanks.

There are no differences between the two other than the EGR tube. I used the L16 one on my W58 round port head and it works fine with a square port mani gasket.

I switched to the L20 mani for the 2" exhaust. :D

Good to know as the current exhaust piping on my W58 head was shit-welded at an angle. Oh, wait, maybe that was by design to create necessary back pressure....yeah....right....
