The stock exhaust manifold is not restrictive on a stock engine and optimizes the engine's firing order, 1 3 4 2 by pairing 1,4 and 3,2. There's not much to gain with a header unless it's part of a package. Cam and side draft carburetors. The Z series head design is the limiting factor in that they don't breath that well when revved up. It was designed for low and mid range torque and low emissions and they are very good at that. Stock exhaust manifolds last the life of the truck. Headers, specially a used one, need at least yearly maintenance and always rust out. On a stock engine you'll be disappointed in the outcome, or lack of outcome.

Are you running the Z24i's EFI???? You'll need the header to have a bung in it for the 02 sensor.
