85 Nissan 720 4x4 Weber 32/36 Diaphragm pump replacement.

Hi All.Today I noticed my Diaphragm  pump was leaking.I changed it awhile back to the new Weber one with the white rubber button.Old style had a black rubber button. The new one's come in a Geniune Weber rebuild kit.It says the reason  Weber changed to the white rubber button one is because ethanol  gas we eat it up.So if your Weber stumbles in 2nd gear. You need a new style one.I am on my second new type. The gasket was leaking. The old style had the brass piece holding the black button. My main site Bughaus that I buy from does not sell just the Diaphragm.Only in the rebuild kit.Whete I got my other ones. The kit also has the updated needle.I have one in mine.Old ones came with no rubber on tip.New one's also have a metal wire on it versus old old one's have a black plastic piece.Parts have jumped in prices.I just cleaned the top of my Weber.I checked the float. It was set at 37mm so I bent the tab a little  and reset it to 35 mm.Here are some pictures. The white one never stumbled. So now you know what caused it to.The kits also have it and the new style needle.

Why did weber change the weber 3236 diaphragm Weber updated the 32/36 accelerator pump diaphragm part numbers (such as replacing older numbers like 47407.048 and 47407.249 with modern part 47407.355) to improve material durability, resist modern fuel additives, and prevent premature cracking or stiffening. Reasons for Diaphragm RevisionsModern Fuel Resistance: Older rubber compounds degraded rapidly when exposed to modern ethanol-blended fuels, which dry out and crack flexible rubber components.Improved Longevity: Updated manufacturing specs and elastomer blends help the diaphragm maintain flexibility, ensuring a consistent shot of fuel during acceleration without tearing or leaking. Cross-Compatibility: Newer part revisions were standardized to fit a wider array of progressive and synchronous variants (such as the 32/36 DGV, DGAV, DGEV, and 38 DGAS series) under unified manufacturing tolerances. If you are troubleshooting a fuel leak or a bogging issue, let me know if your Weber 32/36 is stumbling upon acceleration or leaking externally so I can help diagnose your specific problem. Sponsored Here are some Weber 32/36 DGV carburetor parts to consider:

Haven't looked that closely at my kit, but I bought from a supplier here in Aus.

I got my Rebuild  kit.I just ordered the 2 plastic dust seals that go on top part of the Weber one is for where the choke arm goes thru and other is across from it.They both came out.Found one of them  but not the one that the choke lever goes thru.So I ordered 2 each.Parts 7 & 8 in the diagram.Be careful when taking the clip off the choke level and reinstalling  it.Just bought Redline Webers  4 pack of gaskets to get the little one that goes under the plate.Cant find where Weber just sells that little gasket that goes under the thick plate.I had to buy the 4 pack when I want that gasket. The 4 pack has a part number. All wont be used.Just 2 will be.

I bought 2 Redline 32/36 rebuild kits.Just got both. From 2 different sellers. One seller does not charge taxes.I have bought a few, years ago.Redline has changed a few parts in them. The diaphragm  and the needle valve. Also now they dont include the e-clip that connects the choke level arm..Old kits had them.I bought  extra ones from Pegamus Auto Racing years ago. They want you to spend a minimum  amount to sell to you.So you have to buy many clips if just want to get one. What I did?I use a pick to get it out and tweezers to put back in.The clips from Harbor frieght in there kit is too big or too small.I bought there kit.

If any one wants to know or already knows what Weber Redline dealer that charges no taxes PM me.I dont want to post it here. There parts may be cheaper cause of this.Especially if you spend big and get a new Weber. They have fast free shipping too.400 dollars normally  means 36 dollars in taxes. They charge 9 cent on a dollar here in Georgia.

I got my Weber back on.Here are some pictures of the 2 dust cover parts. With it on and not on.If the outer piece were to come off while you have the Weber  off the vehicle. The other piece may fall out and you may not know it.It's just a dust cover.Dont cost much. But shipping cost was not bad.
