RaisingArizona Posted July 4 Report Posted July 4 Hello All, I created a new posting here back in May and have not heard anything coming back. I thought I would reach out again. My brother suffered a massive stroke recently and as his next of kin, I am helping out. My brother is, for the most part, incapacitated and unable to pursue the restoration project he was working on ... a 1971 Datsun 510. We have a bunch of parts that we need to move. Preferably to some one who appreciates the iconic beauty of the Datsun 510 and needs them. Here is a partial list of what we have available: - New, in the box front fenders - New, in the box wheel wells - New, in the box front valance - New, in the box coil-over shocks - New, in the box, Tokico shocks - New, in the box stock clutch assembly - New, in the box racing clutch assembly - Used grill with Datsun emblem - Used headlight bezels and new headlight housings - Instrument clusters - Hundreds of other small parts (some new and some used) such as gaskets, switches, wiring, fuses, gauges, external trim pieces, weatherstripping, and whatnot My goal is find a good home for these. Ideally, someone who appreciates them and can make good use of them ... but I am not of a mind to give them away. The total value of the many parts is estimated to be in excess of $5,000. We will take substantially less to move them out. All the parts are located in St. Charles, Missouri ... a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. During the next few days the parts will be available for inspection at the home. But, soon we will relocate the parts to a storage facility ... after which, I will be performing an extensive inventory and selling them piecemeal. In the near term, if anyone has interest in a large lot of these parts, please let me know as soon as you can so that we might be able to agree to terms. Best regards, Steve Quote
Rustbin Posted July 5 Report Posted July 5 I remember the original post, unfortunately for me the parts are too far away and I can't afford the cost of shipping. Hopefully you will find someone close who can use the parts. 1 Quote

I can make you a smoking deal I am in need of some rear coilovers and weatherstripping and window rubbers, the front fenders are a definite want but I am concerned about the cost of shipping as I am on an island on the west coast of Canada. US postal service might be reasonable for the weather stripping and small stuff. Quote

Regarding the weatherstripping ... there is a ton of that stuff all in new bags in a carboard box. Getting everything to Canada will be a bit costly. The body panels are brand new and in their original shipping boxes. They are not very heavy though ... just a bit bulky. Over the next couple of days I will try to get estimates for shipping stuff to you. Probably from UPS or FedEx as they are a bit less costly than US Postal Service. I have a small business so get a reasonable discount on shipping stuff to Canada. I don't suppose you have an address in Blaine, Washington, do you? In my business many Canadians use an address in Blaine to avoid customs duties. Maybe you are on Vancouver Island? I have another option ... I have a close friend in Seattle. Perhaps I could ask him to be an intermediary and accept the shipment to him and maybe you could drive over and get the stuff from him. Long shot, but worth a try. I will get estimates for shipping to you and I am sure we can work out something price-wise. To obtain shipping estimates, I will need: Your name: Your shipping address: Your email and phone number: Steve Quote
Rustbin Posted July 6 Report Posted July 6 Will PM you. Unfortunately even going to Seattle isn't an easy undertaking for me leaving costly shipping as the only option. Quote
carterb Posted July 6 Report Posted July 6 try Facebook Marketplace. There are some datsun and datsun 510 parts groups on there you can join and post in. --carter Quote
Draker Posted July 6 Report Posted July 6 if you happen to have a picture of any of this stuff, it would help move it. I sell quite a bit of stuff, pictures will move it. It takes time though.. that's the problem. I might be interested in some of these parts. would love to see them. Quote
RaisingArizona Posted July 7 Author Report Posted July 7 The house is being emptied and the new parts in boxes are placed in storage for eventual selling or donation. I am at wits end trying to sort through all this stuff and am reaching the end of my endurance. I have joined some of the Facebook groups that others have suggested but no real progress moving the parts. People just too far away or not interested. Here is a partial list of what I have available. - New LH and RH wheelhouses - New LH and RH fenders - New front valance - New roof panels - Original Datsun front grill with logo - Original headlamp bezels - New headlight housings - Stock clutch assembly - Racing clutch assembly - Two rear transmission plates - New clutch and brake master cylinders I also have some parts for a Toyota 4Runner - New oil filters - New Weathertech rear cargo liner - New Rear trailer hitch assembly and brackets - Original seats - Rebuilt rear differential assembly - Rear roll-up privacy shade for covering cargo - New windscreen wiper arms and blades - New sparkplugs If anyone is within spitting distance of St. Louis and wants to drop by for quick look ... contact me. I am going to be in St. Louis for the next few days. After that, I plan on making one more trip and we would have coordinate our schedule. I will part with these items for 10% of retail. We cannot continue to pay nearly $100 / month for storage for long and we really need this items to move to a new home. Best regards, Steve Steve. - Rear Quote

Unfortunately even going to Seattle isn't an easy undertaking for me leaving costly shipping as the only option. Hi Rustbin, I will check into shipping costs and get back to you. Regarding purchase, I am thinking flat $300 for two fenders and the whole box of weatherstripping ... many pieces all in new plastic bags. I will get you some photos and send them to you. I am thinking that the price of $300 is about about 10% of retail. Steve 1 Quote
