react_haha.png Yeah that's the dip stick tube you're pointing to. No it's got nothing to do with emissions.

Better point to the hole.

That block is a newer casting (around '79-'80?) and likely an import, judging from it's location to the front. All 620 L series engines have the dip stick beside the starter.

It’s not the dipstick hole! Or is it a second one? I took the dipstick off from a different spot

You are pointing to the dip stick tube. Some import engines are used for different applications and are mounted at the front.

Now, what hole are you referring to????

Correct. That's the location where the dip stick tube should go.

Now I can see what you are talking about. This is an import engine and that is just another place that the dip stick can be located. It's pinched off so just leave it.

Now, where this other holke you mentioned?

I got you so it’s probably just an import that got plugged right there with the crimped tube? Sorry the hole I was talking about is the one that the crimped tube sits inside

Looks like an L16/18 block. Definitely not an L20B. L18 was only used in '73/'74 in North America but elsewhere in the world into the '80s.

Your finger was covering the crimp or I would have said something sooner.

I figured, that’s why I flipped it over. I was like damn am I mental this is not the dipstick tube. It is an L16. It came in the truck when I bought it
