PsychoNaut04
https://imgur.com/a/smUiVjy just need to add the clutch and a few details here and there so I can finally mount the engine. question, would it be easier if I mount the engine and trans together or can I do engine first then trans? I spent my saturday brushing all the dirt and grime and added wd-40 rust inhibitor on the truck frame. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I would do separate. Hard to get the engine/trans at the correct level to push the tail of the transmission into place. Put the transmission in place and as far back as you can. Install engine, then slide transmission forward and mate. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
NC85ST
If it’s a divorced transfer case, which I think it is, I would drop them in together. I don’t have experience on the 4wd, but I do on 2wd 720’s and I always drop them in together. Just give the engine some tilt and use a jack on the transmission to raise it up as you slide it in. If you have someone helping you, it makes it all the easier. I hate trying to slide the transmission onto the engine when I’m laying on my back. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
