vacuum delete, but keeping charcoal cannister and need some help with routing lines

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I have an 89 with a z24i auto. I removed most vacuum lines and did an emissions delete, and egr delete, but I kept the charcoal cannister. Now need some help routing the lines, originally I had planned on removing the charcoal canister but changed my mind. I haven't completly removed the lines the only one that I have is from the top of the charcoal cannister. I want this line to run somewhere and I was wondering if anyone has rerouted there line to run straight across to the tbi. Side note if anyone can tell me, but I also have a good amount of pressure in the gas tank after a short drive, (I've only taken it about 2 miles since I got it running) I'm crossing my fingers they're related.

THis is what I had capped off

so the plan is to run the blue vacuum line shown below, straight to the TBI where the orange vacuum hose is. Is this plausible?fJCGBGa.png

Best to leave them alone. You can defeat systems that save gas and make the engine run properly. There is no emission system that actually add power from it's removal.

Probably pressure in the tank because the vent is capped off. The tank vent line (blue) goes here...

The tank vent sends evaporated gas fumes to be stored in the canister when engine is off. When engine is running and warmed up the purge signal opens the purge and allows the store fumes to be sucked into the intake and be burned. The purge signal and the purge line can just be connected to manifold vacuum.

Be sure the grey hose to the ATC is connected and working. The Air Temp Control mixes heater air from the hot exhaust with ambient to maintain it at around 100F at all times other than when the throttle is floored. This giver better mileage from fully evaporating the fuel droplets, eliminates carburetor icing in cold weather and improves throttle response in all weather conditions.

Keep the AB valve functional unless you don't mind exhaust popping on deceleration. It has ZERO effect on running.
