parasitic draw, need help diagnosing

Recommended Posts

280zx w megasquirt, NA to turbo conversion, running coil packs

i have my negative lead on the neg terminal and the positive lead on the negative battery cable while unattached to get amp draw

showing .3 - .6 amps draw while battery disconnected.

ive taken out each fuse, relay, and unplugged each harness in engine bay and can not get amp draw to stop

ive disconnected alternator and no change in behavior

ive taken out all interior fuses

the mini fusible link box for ignition/starter functions had smoked on me once while starting my car with a milwaukee battery. ive also replaced the alternator and its possible i could have messed that up as well.

please help me datsun gods!

This seems like a relay. Something maybe disconnected but the relay still on. For example the horns disconnected but the horn button stuck on turning the horn relay on. If your horn works, then not that.

Everything should be going through a fuse so look at things that have been added. Disconnect your mega squirt. Anything else not factory?
