Thomas Perkins
HI ya'll. I am in need a of a driver side window regulator.Mine is bad. When I go to roll up window, the handle will turn but window does not go up at times.I can roll up some, then grab window and pull all the way up to where it completely closes.I have found a brand new Nissan one from over seas at a great price. The Nissan one's were 127.00 when they had them in stock.I found one for 37.58 and 20.58 shipping. So I will order it.I have bought stuff from over seas Nissan dealers with no problem. This will be a first on this site. They have a good rating.I want a new one.So what is involved in removing old one and installing new one.I have took chances on buying parts over seas and and batting. 1000. Thomas Perkins
I have not heard from them.I guess they dont have any. Here is a used one that is on Ebay.It looks different than the one from Nissan parts deal. The round black part is not on the ebay one. What do you think?Does anyone have a picture of one? I can take the panel off and see but rather not.All the after market ones have the round black piece. Is it a spring.Got to be careful buying used parts. As is. Thomas Perkins
I believe the part that the door crank is attached to is bad.It is wobbly and not turning the gear teeth part properly.I have to jiggle door crank to get it to turn. But it will not connect good and roll window all the way up.So I grab the window and pull it up and it shuts completely. My Haynes manual shows how to replace. My FSM does not.Good to have both books. Thomas Perkins
After looking at both Nissan window regulators. The new one on the Nissan site and a old one for sale on Ebay.I have also seen a few other used Nissan ones. The Nissan site has a upgraded part number for the regulators. Both sides. So the new ones has a black round spring tensioner on it.Also the after market ones do to.That is probably why mine went bad.So I will not get the used one on Ebay.I believe that spring is needed to make the mechanism work properly and keep it aligned with the part with the teeth in it.So I will throw the dice and get a new after market one.Nissan also should have seen how bad there carbs were and retooled them and made them better. Thomas Perkins
I just checked my email and the over seas company Amayama sent a email saying the Nissan left side window regulator is available. They jacked the shipping from 20.58 to 86.56 and duties fees from 20.58 to 15.06.Part was 37.15.Now it is 34.84 for a total of 136.46.First total was 78.23. Is 58.23 more. The new after market one on Ebay that is from Thailand is 75.76 total.A difference of 60.70.About a tank and half of gas.Gas is 2.49 a gallon here.So what should I do.If I get the after market one and it dont fit.I will be stuck paying for shipping it back. They said it will be here December 13.Has anyone bought from Amayama.I read there reviews and they are good. I've purchased plenty from Amayama. They are good. Meticulously packed, package always looks great. Of course, contents arrive in great condition as well. Prices are good, shipping is fair. I was thinking your original shipping estimate was far too low, given the size and weight of the fully packed item. Quote Link to comment
Thomas Perkins
I seen a Nissan site here that had the regulator at 127.00 when they had them in stock. That is how they operate. They will give you a price for the part and price for duties, taxes and fees, and shipping. That is just a estimate. Then they will look to see if they have the part.If they do,they will have it sent to them and send it to you. They told me that the part was found and was being sent to them. Then they will send to me.It is on the way.I have a tracking number. It is coming by Fed Ex I.The worst shipping company. They will damage it.They damaged my Nissan grill and my wife's rack and pinion. But Rock Auto Parts and a seller on Ebay sent replacement parts. My yard has a security gate.Cant get in.So they threw them over the fence.I seen them.I still have both damaged parts. They did not want them back. Both can be repaired.
