DARIN 510
Hey guys I had a question to see if anybody might know on here since online seems to only cover wagon gas caps. I have a friend with a 510 that he just restored and he has the typical gas leak issue from the cap. I know of this certain cap maybe it’s from a 610 I don’t know. But just looking for clarification and if anybody has any other fixes to this. This is the cap that I have on mine and never leaks. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Tell him to stop over filling the tank, check the rubber seal on the cap is not cracked, then make sure the tank vent hose to the flow guide valve is clear. 1 Quote Link to comment
DARIN 510
Well he has a Stant cap now which fits like shit. But in the past I’ve had the same issue. You know the make a left hand turn and lose about a gallon? Loo Quote Link to comment
DARIN 510
Mike. Do you know what this cap is from? Was I right about it being a 610 cap? I got this cap loose Quote Link to comment
A-ko
I had a loose fitting cap like this and i just took the gasket off another one and doubled it up. Fits tight now. Or just cut one out of an old innertube or something to stack on there. Easy fix. Quote Link to comment
DARIN 510
I know Nissan sold the gasket, but I think it’s discontinued now. I think Z therapy sells an aftermarket version. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
BMW 2000 caps usually work although usually available in chrome only. Quote Link to comment
