Not sure what connects to the metal lines on the air cleaner. If anyone can help or post their oem setup I’d appreciate it. In CA so can’t remove. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
If you connect them properly, you will get better performance and fuel economy inside or out of California. But most peeps have no idea what the hoses do ... 1 Quote Link to comment
Sephakrid
Here are some pictures from my 84 California truck. The U-shaped air cleaner connector goes to the forward port on the carburetor. The other end connects upstream of the two t-connectors. It's part of the line that provides a vacuum signal to the distributor. The large vacuum line that you circled goes from the air cleaner to the top port of the thermal vacuum valve. This line just provides a filtered air source when the thermal vacuum valve is open. The small port on the pipe that comes off the manifold attaches to the ATC on the air cleaner. I disconnected mine because the diaphragm is broken. The clear piece of tubing is just a line that runs to aftermarket vacuum gauge that I installed. 1 Quote Link to comment
Sephakrid
Actually, this guide from NICO is pretty helpful, too. https://www.nicoclub.com/archives/nissan-720-pickup-truck-vacuum-hose-routing-and-repair-guide.html 1 Quote Link to comment
Thomas Perkins
I was just going to send the nico club forum but Sephakrid beat me too it.looks real confusion.Sorry that you live in Cali. When I had a stock carb,it was a costly nightmare.Good luck. 2 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Look how many problems you've had with your Weber Quote Link to comment
Thomas Perkins
I dont have any problems at all.I can change my plugs in 20 minutes. You know Nissan carbs are junk.My Weber is 9 years old.My vacuum hose came loose under the power steering. That is not a Weber problem.Just had to cut off end and put back on metal vacuum line.Still have my same choke.A bad empi idle cut off solenoid is not a weber part.It is fixed. All them hoses and stuff hooked up to it is a night mare. You can even get them.parts any more.Ab valve.TVV valve. Also carb parts are obsolete. ggzilla
I love Nissan carbs. Superior in many ways to the Webers. But Weber is good and simpler, I've had several Webers on my Datsuns Even Weber carburetors don't solve hose problems Quote Link to comment
Thomas Perkins
.You mean to tell me that no one on this site has a Nissan 720 with a stock carb and all the hoses connected to the the air breather,so poor ole Alexislikes pizza can figure out how his hoses go.Also when you get your hoses right, take some pictures.Their ain't but hundred or so hoses connected to that awesome Nissan carbuertor. They should of had all the different hoses, different colors.
