Factory air cleaner adaptor for Weber DGV in a 510?

Sorry if there's already a thread about this, I couldn't find one after looking through pages on the search function.

I've seen a lot of the adaptors for using the factory 510 air cleaner on a Weber 32/36 on Ebay, and I was wondering if this actually makes the air cleaner sit in exactly the same spot as on the Hitachi carb, or if it just "fits" while setting the air cleaner in completely the wrong spot? Seems like with the overall height of a Weber, the base plate, and this thing, it'd be waaaay too high. I'm a huge fan of the light blue factory air cleaner on these cars, huge fan of Webers, and absolutely HATE the usual mesh filter that comes with them. If these actually are a direct factory-fit conversion, I absolutely want one!

If anybody has photos of these adaptors actually in use on a 510 specifically, I'd love to see how it looks.

I appreciate that reply, but please note that not a single one of those threads is about this adaptor in a 510 specifically. Two are about modifying the air cleaner to bolt directly onto the carb, and one is about a 620. However seeing how far in the air cleaner needs to sit when adapted directly, I think I have my answer: NO. There's no way in hell this adaptor makes the air cleaner sit at the right level. Absolutely not going to waste my money on one of these things.

Looks like I'm going to do a welded modification at some point when I throw a Weber on. Thanks!

It sits in the right spot, but a little higher. There is still room under the hood. The bracket can be left off or modified and the hot-air tube stretched out or replaced with a longer tube

Ratsun is not an expert at searches, instead use the master of searches: Google: site:ratsun.net 510 weber adapter factory air cleaner

But there is not a thread as specific as your question

You can run into clearance issues with the hood if you upgrade to an L20B and its extra height block.  There are also various different base adapters for the carb.  When I had my 32/36 on the L20B in my 69, I had the short adapter with a redline cast filter holder and still had some hood contact when the engine rocked.

More pictures of this type here (just as reference, I know  you are not wanting to do this type).

Not sure the relative heights of that filter compared to the stock air cleaner housing.

That cast Redline filter housing is super cool! I prefer the look of a stock air cleaner over the generic Weber filter, but something interesting looking (like that) would be ok.

I need to find one of those!

there was a offy or another intake that set up for a weber that dont use a adapter or spacer. this will keep it lower for that weber stock airfilter housing tot fit. maybe even with a L20 But not positive.

I have a tall adapter for the weber 1 pc and I like it. it has more AIR in the system and is sold and wont crack like this thin cheezy ones.  But as I get older I did like the stock filter as it was EZ to change and alot more quiet.

weber does have a square filter that is 1.75 in tall for sure will work with L20s tall or short adapters
