I bought some cheap strip LEDs and wired them into the park and signal wires on my 710. Took the socket apart and gutted it, sealed with RTV. The middle pair are the parking running lights and for the brighter turn signal I just used 8. The lens is orange/amber but the turns are so bright they look yellow in use.

For the rear parking/turn I bought LED bulbs.

The products change all the time. Hopefully they are improving ...

The most common issue people run into is the T/S not flashing at the correct rate.

To prevent that, when changing to LED turn signals, also change the flasher to a load-independent unit such as Bussman 552. Then there is the 510 issue with flasher. Make sure you connect the wires the same way as before or it won't flash at all. If they don't flash, reverse the two wires on the Flasher unit

A lot of Ratsun guys like the Novita EL12 for $16, but the Bussman 552 for $8 works just as well

Thanks Guys,

I just got the replacement 1157 amber LED bulbs and plugged them in. 4.7w instead of 8w but much brighter. I already put in the Novita EL12 since my flasher was bad when I got the car.

Rear lights are next. 🙂

Cheers,

M

You can find direct replacements on superbrightleds.com. I’ve replaced all my bulbs to be LED.  I switched out the relays to be LED specific, and also wired inline those inhibitor things…pretty sure they weren’t needed with the new relays, but figured why not.  Car glows now, super low draw, no issues with fitment.
