Need help with hazard, blinker and brake lights

Basically bought a truck and it's missing the hazard switch, as such i have no hazards and no turn signals, but also no brake lights. Night lights work fine tho as well as reverse. My question is where does the hazard switch go, do I need a 5 pin or 9 pin one and is there a wiring diagram for this part of the steering column? Thanks in advanceIMG_0692.thumb.jpeg.a7a3af95e745dba31e2282b259fdeb9d.jpegIMG_0693.thumb.jpeg.6ce765c3b73dc1f991a77a1db9a180c9.jpegIMG_0684.thumb.jpeg.3182801f984c7332cafbd7f58a9fb1f2.jpegIMG_0681.thumb.jpeg.a5a22b6438305b0e64f6b9e1d453f642.jpeg

The hazard switch is on the top half of the plastic 'clam shell' surrounding the steering column. The 6 pin plug to it should still be there somewhere. The wires should be:

Green/Red (stripe)

Green/Black

Red/Blue

Green/White*

Green * These two* are connected when hazard switch is off and allows the turn signal to operate.

On the hazard switch plug, make a jumper and connect the Green/White stripe and the solid Green wires. This is the same as what the hazard switch does in the 'off' position. This will allow your turn signals to work but not the emergency flasher lights.

BRAKE LIGHTS:

First check the #12 fuse from the left side of the fuse box OR 4th back from the right side. It's 15 amp fuse that operates the brake and hazard switch power. Try that and get back

I did this and brakes + blinkers worked fine for a couple days, until yesterday when the right brake light and blinker just went off, while troubleshooting I took off the jumpers and now the left brake light/blinker doesn't work either. Did I fry something? Got new bulbs, and all fuses are good.

All wires are protected with fuses, if something was wrong with what you did a fuse would blow, also it did work properly for a while.

Well if you remove the jumper both turn signals will stop working because the flasher for then is disconnected.

If one side turn signals stop working then the hazard switch is fine. Look for a burned out bulb on that side, this is doubly true for a new unknown bulb, could be front or rear. If both bulbs on that sides are good but not flashing look at the turn signal switch.

There are two switch circuits in the hazard switch. The turn and the hazard flasher cannot work together, one has to be off if the other is on.

1/  The hazard switch in the OFF position connects the turn signal flasher to the turn signal switch and L&R turn signals will work. Hazard in the ON position the turn signal flasher is disconnected so it not interfere with the hazard flasher.

2/  The hazard flasher in the ON position connects the hazard flasher to all L&R turn signals (now disconnected) and on the OFF position disconnects them.
