Question about fusable links

So I’m trying to replace the fusable links on my 88 D21 but I’m having an issue with finding the correct connectors for this year. The ones that I have are a 4 prong / 1 prong style and the ones I found all over eBay and Amazon are the 3 prong / 2 prong style. Apparently the latter is for the 89-97 model years and mine is for 86.5-88. Is there any way to re route the wires from the old connection to the new? Any details would be greatly appreciated

Why replace them? If burned out yes but all of them??? They can't all be bad... leave them alone.

Match the color of your links with the ones below to get the amperage rating. Now buy fusible link wire based on the amperage rating. Trim the old links and crimp on the new wires. I would also solder them.

Hey I got you my dude, I JUST bought fusible link wire www.EFIconversions.com has fusible link wire by the foot, I bought just enough for $10 with shipping.  probably should have bought another foot each just for piece of mind for my 89 and I have the 4 prong as well. You do need two different sizes. so use that chart Mike posted above^

 

Can you get me the gauge of that single fusible link wire? Mine is completely gone and I dont have a picture to tell what color it was

On the 720 there is Green and Black and if later ECC equipped trucks for California add two Brown fusible links. D21 Hardbody might be similar.

 

Match your replacement to the original amp rating and do not use one that has a higher rating. Cut to similar length and I would solder the ends.
