Tommy Dat Posted August 5, 2025 Report Posted August 5, 2025 apologies if this is covered somewhere else but I am unable to find injectors for my '86 hardbody. These are the two injectors in the throttle body. Nissan says they no longer have them and all the parts houses are unable to get them. Rockauto offers a rebuild service and I can go that route but I wondered if other folks had the same problem and found a different remedy? Are other model years interchangeable? thanks for any help Quote
datzenmike Posted August 5, 2025 Report Posted August 5, 2025 I'm also aware that they are NLA. I don't think the earlier '86 720 Z24i will fit either. The '86.5 through '89 D21 Hardbody and the '87-'89.5 GC22 Vanette had them. Nissan offered to buy back Vanettes from owners and crushed most of them. They would be rare to find in a junk yard. If they are not available then this is your only option. Quote
Tommy Dat Posted August 26, 2025 Author Report Posted August 26, 2025 I sent the injectors off to RockAuto for a rebuild and they just notified me that the injectors are not repairable. Has anyone converted the D21 with a throttle body back to carburetor? If so, what model and adapters did you need? How did it work out? I am not sure what folks do with the hardbody trucks that need these unavailable parts. thanks Quote
Stinky Posted September 26, 2025 Report Posted September 26, 2025 (edited) I know that this is old... You'd need an old (Early 86 and prior) distributor and a carb adapter....and away you'd go. Holley has the Sniper TBI line and has at least 2 dif TBI systems that would work....about $1,100....but you'd still need the old dizzy. Edited September 26, 2025 by Stinky Quote

We get good used parts. From a local wrecking yard, or the nationwide hot-line. Or sometimes from eBay Quote
datzenmike Posted September 26, 2025 Report Posted September 26, 2025 To convert the D-21 Z24i EFI to carburetor you will need a pre '86 Z24 distributor and the drive spindle under it, a pre '86 low pressure electric fuel pump. I don't know if there is an adapter for Weber to a Z24i intake which is much different than a Z24 intake, so you may also need a Z24 intake. Quote
