The cast valve cover and the block off plate for a fuel pump would indicate this. Z24 and Z20 truck engines have black painted stamped steel covers and the Z24 did not have the cast fuel pump boss machined open so no need for a block off plate. If there was power steering this is where the power steering pump was mounted.

Check my website on occasion. I've had this event and others posted for at least the last 6 months! It would be cool to see your 280Z at a local event.
