bry
The cap of my vacuum control valve rotted and fell off. It actually tests good working buy my vacuum system is exposed to the elements. Filters gone.... Been searching and I can't find one of these. Anyone know where to get one of these or an equivalent. Nissan part number is (22363D1700) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Get one off of an '85-'86.5 Z24 720 or '82-'83 Stanza CA20E engine. OR https://ratsun.net/classifieds/category/9-datsun-parts/ Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
If it was mine, I would be tempted to cut a piece of filter into it, and glue a cap back on it, out of similar color plastic VCV Quote Link to comment

Nissan part number is (22363D1700) I figured there should be a cap for this! Mine is also missing. Confirmed unavailability with my go-to old Nissan parts source (V at the Nissan dealer in Edmonds, WA). He said 1981-1986 Stanzas have the same part. Looks like we have to find one in a junk yard, @bry. I'm intrigued by @ggzilla's idea. Seems about the same size as a soda bottle cap. I need to see what an OEM looks like, though. Anyone wanna snap a quick pic for us to model a replacement? Edited July 8 by feefifofum Quote Link to comment
bry
The problem with just gluing something down is the lid needs to act like an umbrella it needs to protect from crap splashing in there but it also needs the freely vent to atmosphere. Is there a way to search the for sale listings by search words the prospect of looking through almost 500 items ......um yikes! Quote Link to comment

August '81 through September '83 or all of the '82 and '83 model years for the exact same part number 22363-D1700. Clean it out first then cut a small wafer of pink insulation for a filter. Then cut small notch in the rim with a file for air entry and glue a cap on. 1 Quote Link to comment
Sephakrid
Here's a picture of one with a cap! It just snaps over the top. The filter in mine had disintegrated so I grabbed some random filter media that was laying around the shop and stuffed it inside. As a side note, I marked the upper vacuum line with a green zip tie to remind myself that it contains a little bead with a hole in the middle. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Bead with hole is to form a restriction to slow down the vacuum signal to prevent random activation from sudden or short lived throttle inputs. 1 Quote Link to comment

I'm intrigued by @ggzilla I just pulled mine off the mounting bracket and turned it upside down and reattached it to the mounting bracket....it fits perfectly. I'll still keep looking for a replacement (or rigging it somehow) but at least I feel better about less debris getting down in there. 1 Quote Link to comment
bry
Pardon I'm a little slow at figuring simple things that are right in front of my face. I live in a non emission tested place. I can just run one hose from the carb to the distributor. Which port do I use on the (factory stock) carb and do I need one of those orifice restrictors? Quote Link to comment
