Big_Vic04
So was putting my car back together after resealing my whole engine etc, anyway forgot to tighten my engine ground to the block all the way and it was shorting to my throttle cable, I got that fixed and went to start the car again and it turned over once and lost power to everything. I went ahead and replace all the fuses in my fuse block under the dash but still no power to anything. It did melt a nice hole in my fuse box cover right where the starter fuse is. But again replaced the fuse already. If anybody has any idea of where to even start looking please let me know. As far as I can tell I didn't melt any wires to anything except for that glass fuse getting super super hot, wire coming off that looks fine Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
This is for a 1979 Datsun A10 "510"? If the engine ground was not connected, when you try to start the engine, the current will go anyway it can and usually melt something. Probably more than just the Fuse Box. I would inspect the Fusible Links, which are on the positive battery cable Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
Glad to hear, sounds like a battery cable connection issue. Clean the battery post and apply terminal spray, or a thin coating of grease, and it'll be good for another year. There is no emergency relay or time-based circuit in the A10, only the fuses and fusible link Edited June 26 by ggzilla Quote Link to comment
