I would modify the 510 pan, it already fits. Add some width so the oil level is lower and baffles to keep the oil around the pick up. Probably could incorporate a windage tray and crank scraper into it.

Yes, I'm sure is feasible to graft the L6 pan onto the L4 pan, but as Mike suggests, probably more straightforward to just modify the L4 pan. Maybe transfer the baffle into the L4 pan (if you already have the L6 parts)

I believe Ermish will make the comp pan, at least it's on his site.  I know DP Racing shows they don't anymore.  Need a core of course.

I have one of the cast aluminum version, but I'm afraid to use it on the race car.  I had the windage tray fixed many years ago.  Safely stored in a box.

What are your plans for racing the car?  History?

I tried to modify a 351 Cleveland oil pan for circle track racing  and i had to weld it and grind it about 20 times to get it to stop leaking at the various  welds .. Tig weld

i should say ,, i used to be a pretty good welder , back when i could see up close anyway.

I don't think I'll risk a $12K motor by kluging together a pan. Other's I might trust to do it, not me. I commissioned Ermish to build one, but it's a several month wait and a tab of $1100 (no core). I bought one from a GTL runner that should come any day, so I think I'll cancel the Ermish pan.

Wouldn't making a 4 cylinder pan out of a six cylinder pan be kluging them together???
