K644-38 Webber TBI to carb conversion questions about the gaskets

I’ve got a d21 and attempting the conversion from tbi to carb with the k644-38 kit from Webber. Everything seems straight forward in terms of installation the instructions are easy. I’ve watched a handful of videos that break down the process as well

I cracked the adapter plate by barely snugging the mounting bolts that was my first mistake Fixed it with RTV but curious if you can buy a gasket kit only without the entire setup?  Second and the one that is holding me up now is the final thick piece of plastic gasket that the carburetor sits on top of. Every demonstration I’ve seen the gasket fits perfect into the mounting studs but for some reason the bolts are not fitting through the material. I didn’t read anywhere that you had to tap threads or drill a larger hole into the gasket to get the bolts to fit. Has anyone dealt with this issue on your conversion? Would drilling a larger hole compromise the seal? Thanks for any advice

Just drill the holes bigger, it won't cause any problem

Are those the studs that came with the kit? Some of the adapters use a stepped stud with smaller threads on the top end

Does the 38/38 fit that bolt pattern?

How will you get this past a smog test?

Do you own an old GM product?

Silicone, it is not just for bosoms...you can use it to glue most anything.  The last thing that I used it on was a tennis shoe sole.  I used Black Ultra.

If you have a place in your area that does Water-Jet cutting, they can make you another adapter.  The set-up fee is about 50 buckeroos, then the plate, and time.  The adapter for my Weber top, to a 6" circle, to make an air-filter adapter, for me, was about $75.

I doubt that it was ur fault.

hey about the 3.0 v6 conversion what all did you have to do as far as the computer goes and did you change the distributor?  can you tell me about egr i blocked mine off , my motor starts but dies right away , cant seem to get it to run for long enough to even try to tune , also found out i was shoving a bunch of gas into crank case , dropped a new fuel pump in and the fuel pressure regulator that came with the carb , and new oil and filter so going to give it another go and hopefully will have gold and itll run but like to know any settings or adjustments or what you plugged off or let ride in the conversion thanks so very much for any info in advance
