CaptainSAVEaHO
Ok so my old radiator was not in the best of shape so I got a new radiator, the problem is that the new one is a 3 core so it pushes about a 1/2 closer to the fan!! Way to close maybe 1/8th of a inch, I have brand new motor mounts and motor is stock so I’m sure the torque over is not going to be a problem! but way to close for me. So is there, another fan that anyone knows of that would give me some more clearance i want to run the 3core because this is a A/C car and a big condenser sits in front of the radiator any help? thanks john Quote Link to comment

CaptainSAVEaHO
No clutch! I have tried to reply3 times but keeps getting kicked! Ratsun! Thing? when I flip the fan around on the pulley there is plenty of room! But the bevel on the fan to the water pump shaft does fit when flipped only fits one way! did the make different off sets on the four blade fans??? thx john Quote Link to comment

Yes * Type 210 * Type 230 used with clutch water pump * Type N01 * Type A46 330mm diameter * Type U20 350mm diameter As I recall the U20 (for L20B engine) has a shallower offset maybe 10mm, so might sit away from the radiator. What I can't remember is if it bolts to the water pump the same. There are two different water pumps, one has a larger bolt pattern for the fan Quote Link to comment
EDM620
Worth considering an electric fan? Thermostatic control... Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, it's worth considering. Mechanical is foolproof cooling and more reliable. However, if you can't find the right combination of factory parts, then an electric fan setup can cool just as well, it's just a little more work to install correctly and add the wiring Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Mechanical fans, even clutch fans, over cool... better than the other way I guess, but until the engine is thoroughly warmed up, it isn't needed and on the highway much of the cooling is from air pushed through the radiator by vehicle motion. Electric fans are supply on demand. Is it any wonder that almost all cars today use electric to save energy rather than turning a fan all the time? My sensor, located in the lower radiator hose, is what ever the SR20 powered Sentra 200sx had. I think set for 190F? Until the water exiting the radiator is above the thermostat rating, it's not over heating and the fan is off. On my temperature gauge it comes on at around 2/3 rather than about 1/2. It's powered at all times and will sometimes come on after parking the car cooling the engine during heat soak. Once warmed up and sitting still it will come on for 10 seconds and off for 30 over and over. Yes, I have a 100 amp alternator. Quote Link to comment
