Mexican pizza, Des Moines Wa April 5th

A few of us from Olympia area are going up in our Datsuns to Des Moines on Saturday April 5th and meet up with Bleach and enjoy a most delicious pizza . The truck opens for business about 11:30 so i'm thinking 12:00(?) We down here , were talking, maybe, till 3pm, cuz weather can be pretty harsh this time of year.

We also were planning to go out to Belfair afterwards so we are probably going to bounce at 3:30.

It is gravel parking lot, with a short steep entrance ( like a sidewalk cutout ) if that matters .  There is additionally,,  probably 3-4  places to park along street and a few farther down the street if you don't care .. There is parking on hill behind but not sure what the deal is with that.

There is also a pet barber shop at that location so maybe you can get a haircut , and toenail clip,, for ya hippy dog .

I will try fixing this announcement later but i haven't had any coffee yet so,,,

On another note, what's the deal with Des Moines? It's like the weirdest town name to spell , it's two words, not just one, and sounding it out is next to impossible .

Is it Dez??  is it Moynes ? Hell i don't know .. I knew a dude named Lamoine, guy was a total douche-waffle. But i digress

We call it D-Money!

Well,   It is the same exit where the Kent Dick's is.

i like the 45th Dick's best because it is like the one in Lake City,, always hopping..  BUT that the one in Kent is easiest to go to with a trailer.

The Dick's in Edmonds location has huge parking lot,, that is almost impossibly full most every day.   The Dick's down in Federal Way has ample parking but they tend to send their specials out almost dry...  And when you're buying a bag of dick's you hate to be chinsed out on relish,,  there i said it .

The "ES" in the first word is silent. The second "S" is also silent.

"DUH" Pizza looks really good!  I like them with those Jalapenos, too..

Normally i would agree with you if we were talking about town in Iowa , but Up in these parts they ( even locals) pronounce with S on second word sometimes , first word sometimes,  and on both words sometimes.

It's like Fred Meyers, there has  never been an "S" at the end ,,, but here we are.

Judging by the bumper on that car,  i guess that it was great grand father of a 240 drift guy, , but it does have some pimp light treatments.

hey i been to that Frank Meyers store downtown. In 1978 my Grandpa stopped in there to buy something and asked the cashier "where's a good place to buy lunch?". She pointed us to a place down the street and ... it was the best cheeseburger I've ever had in my life.  with real oregon cheddar cheese and red onion slice

When I was in the army, (A very long time ago) we had a Sergeant who always added an S on the end of people's names.  His last name was Bush, so when he was out of earshot, we always referred to him as "Bushes"

Does that Fred Meyer store still exist?  We probably had stores like that here in So Cal, but I can't recall any.  When I traveled a lot for work around the States, I always enjoyed old places like that.  Some of them are like stepping back in time.

Enjoy the pizza!

It is a screaming nice day up here today so maybe.

Ole Scalpum-head gave me a "story" about having a speaking engagement, and my middle son had ended up having to cover for the WSP "mad scientist" today   so we are at 5 , and hell that's almost a good turn out these days. lol

Nobody ever wants to do anything anymore,, but you put out an offer to make their Datsun the banner car on facebook .. 1500 local responses,, haha.

I took 94 pics, but didn't get great pics of the cars overall. I couldn't see my phone screen in the blinding sunlight

yea, this was a few blocks away. I was stopped at the traffic light here, but I couldn't figure out what the 30 or so people were protesting

there is a Dick's drive-in in Kent? I've spent too many decades ignoring Kent, now that I live here I should start paying attention ... that reminds me. back in 86 or so I saw an ad in the newspaper for a 71 Datsun, I went to check it out at the new Kent Commons. It was fantastic. No, not the building but the flawless dark blue Coupe with a complete Quickor suspension package. I shoulda bought it, but $2000 was big money back then
