Crashtd420
So I know this about my wife's vw bus but she is running a weber 32/36 which is in many datsuns.... While working on some stuff I noticed a missing plug.... I found a stock picture and confirmed my suspicions.... My question is this, is there an idle jet behind it? Because I'm wondering if it's there or not... This is a picture of the idle jet, and I don't think I could install one plus the plug so I think the jet is in there... Are those a pressed in jet, I don't even know how it would come out.... Any insight will help, as of now I'm going to order the plug because I know I atleast need that.... Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Well while looking for the plug i understand how the jet is held and I have definitely lost that too... Saw this picture... Now to figure out what jet i need... Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
So it looks like I'll just have to get a couple... I can get a 4 pack so I'm planning on just, 40,50,60,70.... I have a small drill set so I can drill out if necessary to get a half size.... Maybe it was a good thing since her throttle cable and linkage wasn't correct... so she was never actually opening the secondary butterfly.... That has been corrected.... I'm still not sure how the secondary idle works or when.... Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
figured it would NOT idle if that was missing. ??? or maybe get massive amouts of fuel and leak out if no brass screw cover Quote Link to comment

It's the secondary, luckily it didn't leak fuel since I don't believe it can draw the fuel up, if anything it was a vacuum leak.... Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Yeah, that's a pilot jet. Can't run without that. If the one that's missing is larger than the one on the other side of the carb, it is a fuel cut solenoid. Quote Link to comment

What's crazy is it was running and I have no idea how long it's been missing... Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Actually, the fuel cut solenoid is a worthy upgrade. Quote Link to comment

I agree but she has never had a dieseling issue on shut down so I might just leave it alone.... I do have secondary jet and holder on the way.... 1 Quote Link to comment
