Fostin510
So I came across a post talking about using a brake booster from a B210 to improve the brake performance of a 510, so I thought I'd go looking to see if I can find one. They seem to be hard to come by. So what's the alternative to the 210 brake booster? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The early 620 used a 4 1/2" and later L20B trucks a 6" booster. The booster is usually on a pedestal between it and the fire wall. This gives you more clearance with the clutch master and the steering column just below it. Make sure that the brake master cylinder clears the 510 strut tower. The booster does just that, it amplifies your braking input so after a long day of driving you are less fatigued. Quote Link to comment
prubi
You could also try a willwood boosterless master cylinder. I use on on a L300 front ended Landcruiser and works quite well. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The 510 does operate without a booster just fine. If stock discs and drums keep the master at 3/4", larger and you increase the effort needed to stop. The pedal becomes firmer. Quote Link to comment
