Chance
so im having some cold starting issues and so im trying to adjust the choke but there seems to be that the only tension adjustment I can get is the choke flaps being up, I get no downward tension to keep them closed. I can't find anything on this. any help? Edited January 4, 2025 by Chance Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
this is for a weber but the same type system https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=yfp-t-s&ei=UTF-8&p=datsun+620+electric+choke+adjustment#id=2&vid=cbc40825a047058ebf7982dad8f04573&action=click Quote Link to comment
Chance
I've seen how to adjust it but my issue is I can't get any tension pushing the choke flaps down to set the proper tension. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Remove the three screws on the electric choke: This is the underside which has a ceramic heater and a bi-metallic coil that unwinds as it gets hot. See that J shape or hook on the end? That has to engage the arm on the choke flap. When the choke heater is on you twist it and that hook rotates with it and turns the flap till it's closed. If the hook is off the lever it won't adjust. Hold the throttle partly open when setting the choke. 1 Quote Link to comment
Chance
the hole was slipping off the lever when I put on the choke housing, got tension on the choke now. I'll try to dial it in tomorrow to see if that fixes my rough start problem and the pulsing idle. ill check back in tomorrow appreciate y'all. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
When cold turn the choke heater towards richer. I leave the screws just slightly loose so you can just turn it. It will take several tries then tighten at a later date. Turn till lap is just closed. This will do for now but when it gets colder you may have to turn it even more to get it just closed. 2 Quote Link to comment
