Is this the Oem carb my 86 came with?

I agree, it looks like an ECC carb based on the two wires coming out above the fuel bowl. There should be an ink stamp on the side of the fuel bowl that says which variant of the DFP384 carb you have. Unfortunately, the stamp washes off easily so you may not be able to read it anymore.

 

Just offhand, I'd say that carburetor looks correct for a 1986 with the Z24 engine.

Have oft wondered why Hitachi never stamped ID on their carbs. A soak in carb cleaner takes the inked ID off.

Yours may be a China repop as the plastic looks bright.  Had to really twist the choke pull off to get it right on mine. Is the dashpot plastic? Also had to inst. bigger ball in accelerator pump.
