your pictures seem to be not working.

I bought 66 411 (aunt flo) for 1800 and a couple almost junk z50s \ needed wiring but i drove home

i traded almost $3500. worth of stuff including a somewhat rusty running driving 1200 , and 2 Aseries 5speeds,  and a rusty b210 for one

i picked up a 65 from Andrew out on Bonney lake for $500

i got a free 67 chicken coupe save , from Beefweasel but had to drive 4 hours one way to pick up.

i bought another almost road worthy 66 for i think $400

and 4 more for free

does that narrow it down? haha

undamaged windshields are non existent ,,  front Brakes will have to be researched to within an inch of the edge of the internet .  other than that

Problem with niche vehicles are they are can be a time vampire finding parts and then unless totally rebuilt like a couple people have,, worth very little (compared to investment)  because of the actual freeway drivability , in stock form

In reference to the following quote of you below VV< .... Was that car in a similar condition to what this red one is? Drive able, needs some tlc, but good bones?

Yes it has it's problems, but it was running driving for sure,, i wanted it for many years but couldn't afford,  till he offered to trade for all the junk i had.. He was selling because he wanted to concentrate on his fleet of B210s ,, which are by far superior in fuel mileage/ safety / comfort/ ease of finding parts/ and highway drivability

I have been trading with previous owner for many years.

.   it has crazy high compression 1600 stroked to 2000 and a 5speed

It was tuned mostly for drag racing at his local 1/8th mile airport weekend drags so it does WIDE OPEN!!  real well,, midrange not so much.. It had welded rear and funky slot mags so he could keep the nicer webbed mags .  It also had/has smaller 1300 radiator .. Would i trade again,, or pay his original price ,,  YES

Anyway

The car pictured is cool.  with todays California prices that $3500.-$4000 isn't as crazy as it used to be.

Have you test driven it yet? like around other people?    I can guarantee you,  you will be your own traveling circus , people give you massive amounts of love when they see it drive by.  If that don't sell it to you nothing will

If you get it , there are ways to increase high speed rpm dropping so more freeway friendly but everything costs

it's this one

below

My red car i bought from a dude that was just tired of it , and wanted to get into Z50s

If you're buying to flip,,  i wouldn't,,  but if you love the oddball thing, you might be sorry you let it go.

.

Maybe , I'm not the right person to ask if i would buy a 411.. haha

Yes, I've test driven it a mile or so. at night with foggy windshield and dim lights. I have considered buying it to sell again after a bit, just wanted to get my head around if i could re-coup investment into it, or just a loss. It sounds like it may not be worth more than about 4-5 as is.

Id like to clean up engine bay, electrical.

make it run smooth, steam clean everything, detail. fresh coat of underbody protection, grease suspension points. Ressurect paint, and detail interior. Needs rear diff seal somewhere. Possibly a new exhaust, old one is a little rusty and tiny. Make it run great and ready for short 1-3hr drives. Reliable.

I'd hope to get close to 7500 for it and it goes to a good home (maybe restoration, or build after i have it for a while, that would be great. Car could use a tlc and a good future.)

I just don't know if that is out of reality or not. not looking to flip the car per say, but i do enjoy working on classics, sustainably as a hobby and doing the car good.

How does an owner here attempt to value their classic Datsun?

With so few examples findable on the internet, it begs the question, how does on find a monetary value for their car?

The value is only useful for the insurance company. Is it really important to know? If you like it you aren't about to sell it so it's moot.

Location/rarity..... It would be worth perhaps more on the east coast than the west

Collectability........ Is it in demand? a fad to own Jap tin? or is it an old '91 Corolla?

Money pit............. Are parts available for it to be restored?

Investment........... will it appreciate in value? not bloody likely.

Condition................ is it completely original? un-restored? modified?
