I've never actually torn one apart.  I looked at the parts and service manuals and didn't find anything helpful.  I briefly address it in part of a video I did....a long time ago!!!  So many UMMs and AHHs! 😞  The camera didn't focus on the correct spot either.  It's as close as I've gotten to the high beam switch.  I know I have an extra switch around here somewhere.  If you still can't get it to stay in there, msg me and I'll see if I can dig out mine and take a look at it for some better ideas.

I've used some dental floss to hold brushes in when reassembling starters and generators....and small DC motors.  Not sure if that would work with a ball.  The idea is to use the floss to hold them back and then once assembled, you can pull it back out.

I'm not sure just what the issue is for you.  Is it falling out after being assembled?  Is it that you can't hold it in place to assemble it?  A few more details might help a bit.  If it's during assembly, maybe a few more close up pics with the pieces apart.

I watched your videos and at 15:45 you talk about high beam switch. So there is a little ball bearing that sits in there on copper piece. They seem to just fall out. I cannot seem to find how or what hold the little bearing in there.

I would think that the ball is the detent that holds the switch lever in on position or the other.....and not actually part of the switch contacts.  Have you taken the assembly apart before?

No clue if this matches anything on yours, but it should give you an idea about what I mean with the ball being a "detent" rather than part of the contacts.

I was slightly confused when you put the time....15:45....in your response.  I meant to put the link in to start right at that time.  When doing this link, I realized I didn't select the "start at" box.  Sorry. lol  On this one I did. 🙂
