Xiao_Hu
My friend with a 71 wagon was having trouble finding a new sending unit. I gave him a link to Amazon where they sell a Datsun 720 sending unit. Turns out it's a drop in replacement. I think the ohm range is a little bit different but that is fixable with sufficient circuitry. But as far as fitment and sealing goes, it worked perfectly. 3 Quote Link to comment

benzo
@Xiao_Hu thanks for this info. I had already bought one for a 510 but may get this and use instead for my wagon. Quote Link to comment
Xiao_Hu
That's what we did in my friends wagon. I have no idea if you might need an inline resistor or not Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I found no difference between 620 and 720 senders and their readings. 620 tank with 720 dash read the same The 720 / 620 (probably all Datsuns) are 10 ohms or less...... ....... FULL 25 ohms......................... 3/4 40 ohms......................... 1/2 56 ohms......................... 1/4 80 or more ohms........... EMPTY I should imagine that getting an electrical device safety rated for use inside an gas tank is lengthy and expensive so once you have one, best to use it in all models and vary the float arm for different tanks. 2 Quote Link to comment
edekalil
Glad to see this I’ll have to get a few. Quote Link to comment
Duncan
As I recall, I used a Z sender in my 510 wagon. I moved the sender location on top of the tank, so I did the trial and error of shortening and bending the float arm. Ended up working fine, but it did take some trial and error..
