Xiao_Hu
So I measured a stock 510 wagons floor tub and I am reasonably certain that it will work to patch my much later A10 chassis car. To that end I will be ordering a set of front floor pans ASAP. The width measurement that I got on the stock 510 was 22 in from sill to trans tunnel (at sill height) I got similar measurements from my 510. After I take care of the floors my next biggest project on the car (I'm currently working on getting it running) is gonna need to be cleaning the interior and finding rocker panel and wheel arch/rear lower quarter patch panels or even just fabricating them myself. This car was previously improperly repaired with rivets. Again I'm not looking for a perfect car so I am going to continue doing research. I will post photos and results when I have the new floor panel bonded in. My strategy is going to be cutting the edges flush where the floor needs to patch, taking sheet metal strips and panel bonding them to the edges of the tub, then panel bonding the panels to the floor pan. The result will be that the interior is flat, but the bottom will have a set of strips indicating it has been repaired. Seam sealer will be applied to all seams to make everything water tight. I'm also looking at building a custom grill because the 1978 has an ugly ass grill Quote Link to comment
