peterbryant
I'm about to purchase my first 410/11 and one thing I want to do is give it some more pep! I'm not interested in doing conversion as I don't want the hassle of having to do all new engine mounts/gearbox etc. I know the j series engines are quite limited but this is just a fun little project for me. I'll be doing 90% of the work on the engine at home including designing and building my own manifolds and head work. So that brings me to the question, what models of nissan came with the 5 bearing crank j15. I have only briefly read about it but I can't find any information. Not that it matters but I'm based in Australia so if they were ever released here that would be even better! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
We only got the J13 so it's news to me that the larger J series got 5 main bearings. Both use the same crankshaft as the stroke were the same. Here's a J13/15 crankshaft... https://www.athousakis.gr/en/strofalos/crankshaft-j13-j15-b3040-for-nissan-6.html There were J16 and J18 engines Quote Link to comment

peterbryant
I think that's where I'm confused, I must be thinking of the R series engine. Ignore me and move along!! Quote Link to comment
