Cams do not break for no reason. If the head is warped up top the cam will have to bend when turning and metal fatigue will set in and they snap. When you install the 'new' one it should slide right into the cam towers if it's ok. Be sure to try to spin it by hand before the sprocket and rockers are installed. It should spin freely with almost no effort.

Does your friend know how to block the timing chain tensioner from dropping out when the chain is removed from the cam sprocket???

Delta never was as advertised. I measured them and wasnt per spec so I never bought any from them Had 3 so called improvments but were really stock lift with longer duration cause the just flatten the top and back grind the back to try to get lift.(then you need different size lash pads.

I gave the 3 cams away.

if head is warped they have to take the rockers and towers out to get it flat from the top side. then the cam towers can go back in and carfully bolt the towers to like 10/13 pounds with out stripping out the threads.

what I did is put the towers on loosly and have cam in there already and torq and see if you can turn the cam by hand with the sprocket on. if yes then its OK if locked up solid after torq I say its binding. You can do the ends first or what ever to see which tower is binding the most
